How much can I upscale an image?

2× or 4× per run. You can run it again on the result if you need more.

Will upscaling change my image?

It adds detail where the original is soft, so very fine textures can look slightly different from the original. It is designed to keep faces, text and edges intact.

Is upscaling better than generating at 4K?

If you are generating a new image, choose 4K in Image Studio. Use the upscaler for photos you already have, or for images you made at 1K.

Is there a free version?

The free image generator makes 5 images with FLUX.2 Klein without an account. Everything else uses credits from a plan. Plans start at $10 a month for 100 credits ($8 a month billed yearly), and the exact cost of every generation shows on the Generate button before you run it. Failed generations are refunded automatically.
